Somatic Healing
Somatic healing is a body-centered healing modality that focuses on the connection between mind and body to address trauma, stress, and emotional pain. Unlike Western talk therapy, it incorporates physical awareness, breathwork, and movement - techniques our Black and Brown ancestors have known to use for thousands of years. This approach helps to release stored tension and restore balance in the nervous system. It’s grounded in scientific frameworks like polyvagal theory (which explains how the nervous system responds to stress and safety), neuroplasticity, and research on how trauma is held in the body. Trauma experts support the idea that healing is most effective when both the brain and body are involved, and studies show somatic techniques can reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and chronic stress.

Drawing from the SAH Method—a powerful synthesis of dance, Buddhist practice, and yogic philosophy—each session invites participants to return to the intelligence of the body as a primary source of healing.
Through grounding practices, breathwork, and ecstatic dance, participants are guided to release stored tension, reconnect with their inner vitality, and cultivate emotional resilience. These techniques help regulate the nervous system and support long-term integration and healing.In addition to formal training in the SAH Method, I weave in wisdom passed down from elders, personal lived experience, and intuitive guidance. Every session is a co-creative space, rooted in respect for the body’s innate ability to heal when given the right tools and attention. These sessions are ideal for anyone seeking emotional release, reconnection to self, or a supportive space for processing life’s challenges through movement and breath.
Informed by the latest findings in neuroscience and somatic psychology, these sessions recognize that trauma is not just stored in the mind, but deeply held in the body. Modern trauma experts such as Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and Dr. Peter Levine have shown that healing requires more than talk; it requires movement, breath, presence, and embodied awareness.
